The Role

In partnership with Realise HR, the region’s specialist HR & People agency, we are seeking a new People Advisor to join the team! Our People Advisors are a knowledgeable and busy bunch. They are hands on with all things people related on site. One minute they can be dealing with an ER issue and the next they can be offering guidance and coaching to leaders from across our business. It's a fast paced and varied role, but a rewarding one.

You will:

  • Proactively work to build people management capability across the site to enable line managers to confidently and autonomously handle people issues.
  • Build positive and effective relationships with unions.
  • Reinforce the visions and values in all aspects of work and act as a barometer to colleague morale.
  • Support, coach and challenge line management with absence, disciplinary and grievance issues.
  • Support and drive colleague engagement on site
  • Lead a number of the projects on the HR plan
  • Design and Implement effective recruitment solutions
  • Proactively Manage Employee Relations and Case Management activities
  • Support the People team with day to day admin tasks

About You

  • Experience of working in a fast-moving multi-site in a HR advisory capacity (ideally from an engineering or manufacturing background.
  • You'll also have excellent communication skills combined with an engaging, pragmatic and highly commercial approach.
  • You’ll need to be a resilient confident, forward thinking, self-starter who can adapt and flex with the needs of the business and be self-sufficient in terms of managing your own workload effectively.
  • Ideally, you'll be CIPD qualified or studying towards it but more importantly you must have an excellent working knowledge of employment legislation.
